On Nov. 4 we will be celebrating our third First Friday event at the Anchorage Museum. The exhibit will showcase printed Instagram photos from the second and third year of the account, highlighting how community members Live, Work and Play in Anchorage.
This year, we are offering the opportunity for AEDC Investors to be featured on the new exhibit panels. Each panel will feature one sponsor, with 20 new panels available for sponsorship!
“I Love Anchorage” First Friday History:
Our first event, on Nov. 7, 2014, (photo gallery below) was held at the Egan Center. AEDC, with a lot of help from KPB Architects, printed all the photos posted to the I Love Anchorage Instagram account in its inaugural year. The artwork was displayed in the lobby with the help of Art Services North. Attendees at the event were also engaged to learn about and participate in Live. Work. Play. Areas of Focus.
Our second event, on Nov. 6, 2015, was held at the Anchorage Museum at Rasmuson Center and sponsored by Wells Fargo. In addition to displaying the original set of year one art panels, KPB Architects once again provided printing services, this time for all photos from year two of the account and Art Services North facilitated the display. Many local businesses also stepped up support the event by sponsoring individual panels.
You can also check out the Museum’s Faces of First Friday photos taken by Mikey Huff, Willie Dalton and Oscar Avellaneda-Cruz at the 2015 event! All photos by Mikey, Willie and Oscar were posted to the Anchorage Museum’s Facebook page.
Our “I Love Anchorage” First Friday events would not be possible without the enthusiastic participation of all the I Love Anchorage hosts. We appreciate everyone who helped make this project possible! Special thanks to Wells Fargo, KPB Architects and Art Services North.
