The 2021 Economic Forecast Virtual Luncheon was Jan. 27, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event was hosted virtually on Zoom with Alaska Public Media.
Keynote speakers were Sen. Lisa Murkowski and Gov. Mike Dunleavy. Sen. Murkowski shared her views on the coming year from a federal perspective, with a focus on COVID-19 relief efforts (unemployment, business assistance, Infrastructure investment, etc.), key economic policy initiatives that will affect Alaska, and more! Gov. Mike Dunleavy spoke about his perspectives on the coming year, including the 2022 budget and the solutions to the state’s fiscal policy challenges, how the state is responding to the economic crisis caused by COVID-19, and his vision for the path forward for Alaska’s economy.
