Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson is accepting applications for the 2016 – 2018 JBER Honorary Commander program through May 4.

JBER is committed to developing, promoting and maintaining positive and productive relations with key opinion and community leaders in the surrounding Anchorage, Matanuska-Susitna and Kenai area communities. The Honorary Commanders Program is designed to provide community and business leaders greater exposure to the JBER missions and the roles the military play in supporting the nation’s defense and the local community. As an honorary commander, you will have the opportunity to experience JBER from inside the gates and obtain an in-depth understanding of how your assigned unit contributes to the JBER mission. You will be invited to a variety of functions and are encouraged to interact with unit personnel to learn about your unit’s mission, while being expected to be a proactive supporter of your unit.
