Alaska Entrepreneurship Week

July 24 – August 2, 2015

Alaska Entrepreneurship Week was first held in the summer of 2013, during the last week of July. It is a statewide movement to promote entrepreneurship and innovation. Now, each year during the last week of July, communities around Alaska are encouraged to hold events that celebrate and showcase local innovators, inventors, entrepreneurs and to inspire the next wave of innovations and business ventures right here in Alaska.

Alaska Business Week is a one-week summer program teaching Alaskan high school students the basics of business, leadership and entrepreneurship. Participants live on a college campus, and work as teams in a dynamic business simulation with the guidance of a mentor from the business community. After completing the program, students have a competitive edge on workplace readiness, college preparation, and overall life success.

Featuring panelists Margie Brown, former President & CEO of CIRI; Paul Dunscomb, professor of History at UAA; Larry Cash, founder, President & CEO of RIM Architects; and Dr. Rashmi Prasad, Dean of the College of Business and Public Policy at the University of Alaska Anchorage.
