Residents Looking to Help

AK CAN DO

The Alaska Community Foundation and United Way of Anchorage have launched a statewide platform, AK Can Do, connecting donors with families and organizations impacted by coronavirus.  AK Can Do helps in two ways: 1) supporting those whose employment has been affected by COVID-19 and are struggling to pay for groceries, rent, utilities, and more; and 2) backing the front-line nonprofits that our community needs open right now.  You can give to support a neighbor in need or a non-profit organization providing critical services to support Alaskan families.

ANCHORAGE CONNECTS
Anchorage Connects is a collaborative effort of The Anchorage Public Library, Welcoming Anchorage, and local artists to bring the community together while they remain physically apart.

MOIRA SMITH’S DAY OF CARING FACEBOOK GROUP
Each day, this page will suggest one concrete, either non monetary or low-cost way we can support and love our community and community members during these weeks / months of hardship. Any ideas are welcome.

SUPPORT ANCHORAGE BUSINESSES
In response to the business closures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Municipality of Anchorage has created a business dashboard.  This dashboard shows a map of businesses that are open, closed or under altered operating hoursbased on a survey business owners can fill out.  There is a specific map of restaurants offering to-go or delivery service.
