On May 30th, the Anchorage Music Co-op and Northern Culture Exchange unleashed 18 months of secret planning for an event called “An Urban Conflux”. This large scale event staged local musicians all over the city, leading participants to a surprise Centennial music show at Town Square Park.

At its core, this project was driven by public/private collaborations. Partnerships included emerging private businesses, such as Tai Chi, yoga studios and downtown businesses, as well as longtime Anchorage institutions, like the People Mover and the Anchorage Symphony Orchestra. The organization is currently making a documentary to tell the unusual story.
