Follow The Light

As part of the art group Light Brigade’s commitment to Anchorage’s future as a great Winter City they are opening their next large scale urban art intervention on Winter Solstice (Dec. 20). This official Anchorage Centennial Celebration project is a very large-scale sound and light sculpture called Follow The Light. The piece, which they claim will be the largest sculptural installation of its kind ever mounted in Alaska, will be installed downtown in Elderberry Park for three weeks. The installation will interact with visitors to the park and will be powered by electricity made right there on the site by the Light Brigade and you, the visitors, using solar and human-powered generating apparatus. They have launched an emergency two week crowdfunding campaign to raise the necessary money to finalize the fabrication and installation of the project. You are asked to help out by going to their Indiegogo project page and join the effort to make this happen. To find the link to their donation page click here: http://igg.me/at/followthelight
