Anchorage Consumer Optimism Index: Q2 2026
The Anchorage Consumer Optimism Index registered 40.5 out of 100, showing a 0.3% increase vs Q1 2026 report. Consumer confidence ticked up slightly from Q1’s 40.2 to 40.5, and residents’ ratings of current conditions in both Anchorage and Alaska improved modestly. However, Future Expectations, the piece of the index that captures where people think things are headed, fell to 31.9, its second-lowest reading in 16 years of tracking, trailing only the pandemic shock of March 2020. Personal-vs-Public Gap Persists where residents now rate their family’s financial situation positively. Data collected show ages 55+ rate their finances as “Good.” This survey was completed by Alaska Survey Research.
