Anchorage Millennial Workforce Report

Today’s workplace is changing, and it’s being shaped by the burgeoning millennial workforce — the largest generation in American history. With individuals aged 20-39 making up over 30% of Anchorage’s population, it’s important that we do our best as a community to retain them.

Our first-of-its-kind (for Anchorage) report dives into what almost 1,100 Anchorage millennials said they wanted in the workplace; culminating in recommendations that workplaces of any size and industry can implement to better attract and retain millennial talent.

Some of the findings of our report include:

  • While important, wages are not the ultimate arbiter of job selection.
  • Much of what millennials desire most can be implemented with no capital.
  • Millennials prioritize a different work culture than previous generations.

The Millennial Workforce Report is sponsored by Wells Fargo, Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alaska, Alaska Executive Search, and Providence Health & Services Alaska
